    North Carolina states of USA

    North Carolina is USA's 28th largest state with an area of 53,819 sq miles out of which 9.5% is water and this state is nicknamed as Old North State and Tar Heel State. This state is bordered on the south by South Carolina, on the southwest by Georgia, on the north by Virginia,
    on the east by Atlantic Ocean and on the west by Tennessee. North Carolina essentially has three main geographic regions are Mountain, the Atlantic coastal plain and Piedmont thereby allowing you to enjoy diverse regions in a single state.

    The climate is mostly warm as it is mainly influenced by the Gulf Stream and the Atlantic Ocean especially in the coastal plain. The winters in the costal plain is quite warm with the temperature dropping only at the night thereby making it perfect for nature lovers. Generally North Carolina's climate is severe both in winter as well as summer which also brings on threats like tropical storms, hurricanes, heavy rain etc. though since 2011 there have been no such big calamities. It is highly recommended that you visit this state at the beginning of winter so you can enjoy the nature without any fear.

    In North Carolina Spanish is the second most spoken language after English and few other languages spoken are French, German, Chinese, Hindi, Vietnamese, Korean and Arabic. Similar to most of the southern states in America, North Carolina's most practices religion is Christianity but other religions like Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism etc. are also practiced and quite a few are also Irreligious.

    As in many southern states of US North Carolina is mostly known for their awesome and mouth-watering non veg dishes especially barbeques and seafood. But like any place this state also has a few feature dishes that will mark your memory and your taste buds. A few such dishes are Lexington-style and Eastern-style BBQ, Krispy Kreme, Chicken and waffles, Cheerwine, Clam chowder, Pimiento Cheese Sandwiches and Texas Pete hot sauce.

    If you have a vehicle of your own then it is very easy to reach North Carolina as is connected with three main highways but if you don't then don't worry government offers mass transit systems like buses, shuttles and trolley lines. If you love a faster means of transport then you can go with the awesome rail service or fly into the many airports present like Piedmont Triad International Airport, Raleigh-Durham International Airport etc.

For art and culture lovers places like Charlotte, Asheville, Winston-Salem, Chapel Hill and New Bern are highly recommended.
